I joined the counter-protest against far-right anti-immigration riot in August and reflected from the perspective of a former activist. In between, I recalled a memory of a protest long ago in Hong Kong. It is also a dialogue to the Hongkongers in the UK who didn’t care about the issue (or even agree with the right-wing).

In order to protect the protesters, even though I took so-called "normal" shots, most of the shots used in the film were those "useless" parts which would normally be deleted. The shots were random and arbitrary like the (post) truth the far-right believed in.

2024年8月初，經過多個城市的反移民騷亂後，極右號召在8月7日攻擊全英國100個地點，左翼亦呼籲站出來反抗。那天，我參與了其中一場反抗議示威，以攝影機草草記下所看到的一切，由一個前組織者的角度反思，並回憶起2011年的一場對建制、右翼反對外傭爭取權港權遊行的反抗議行動，由於當時民間偏向保守，該次抗爭沒有得到社會的認同。那是我第一次被捕，也是我參與社會運動的一個轉捩點。

走上街頭，總覺似曾相識。那天的示威中，我發現這裡的抗爭者也對鏡頭十分敏感。以我理解有幾個原因：其一是對媒體及KOL的不信任；其二是右翼會「影大頭」發放到他們的群組報復；其三是警方不僅拘捕過右翼暴動分子，也拘捕過反抗議者。因此即使我拍攝了所謂「正常」的鏡頭，在片中卻大多採用了平常會剪走的、「無用」的部份。

手搖鏡頭雜亂無章的對焦，近乎隨機與任意，「唔知噏乜」的雜碎鏡頭；如同右翼種族主義者「唔知噏乜」的雜碎邏輯，他們所願意相信的 (後)真相、選取的敵人，說穿了，同樣任意與隨機。

移英港人或許對那場極右騷亂興趣缺缺 (如果不是認同)，更遑論左翼的反抗議示威。但當他們說要「take back the island」——無論那是英倫三島、或是 (最終只能「佔領」)公路上的安全島，要肯定的是，沒有人是孤島。當移英港人一直念茲在茲要「融入」，或者亦應包括關心公民社會及參與社會運動——正如曾經在故土時一樣。
